FRESNO, Calif.
- To kick off the Bulldog basketball
season, the Fresno State men's and women's teams will hold a Community Hoops
Night open to the public on Nov. 2 from 6-7:30 p.m.
Head
Coaches Adrian Wiggins and Steve Cleveland will give Bulldog fans a clinic on
how they run their practices and offer a first look for the community of their
talented 2009-10 squads.
Admission and parking for the event
are free. Also the Save Mart Center concessions will sell $1 hot dogs, $1 small
fountain sodas and $1 popcorn cups that night.
"Our
community is very important to the success of our program and we are excited to
show our fans the progress we have made," Cleveland said.
The
night will start at 6 p.m. with the women's practice, followed by the men's
practice at 6:30 p.m. After the clinics, both teams will sign autographs and
meet fans from 7-7:30 p.m.
"We
always look forward to opportunities to meet our fans. Our team has worked
really hard this off season and is looking forward to starting the season,"
Wiggins said.
Both
teams play in the only exhibition games of the preseason in a Nov. 4
doubleheader against Fresno Pacific, starting at 6 p.m. in the Save Mart Center
with the women's game followed by the men's contest.

mixed martial arts (MMA) prospects Shane
Del Rosario (8-0) and Brandon Cash “Money”
(5-0) will square off in a STRIKEFORCE Challengers matchup at
Save Mart Center in Fresno, Calif., on Friday, Nov. 6.Rising middleweight (185 pounds) stars Luke Rockhold (5-1) and Jesse “J T Money” Taylor (13-4) will duke it out that night
as well.
Both fights
will be contested on the live SHOWTIME® televised portion of the fight card. In
the main event, unbeaten lightweight (155-pound limit) sensation Billy Evangelista (9-0) will battle
with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt and electrifying brawler Jorge Gurgel (13-5). The live SHOWTIME
